01. I was raised on a dairy farm.
02. I love to drive.
03. If I could go anywhere in the world on vacation, it would be to Switzerland.
04. I took 4 semesters of German as an undergraduate.
05. I am a night owl.
06. Although my eyesight isn't terribly bad, I wear contact lenses--and occasionally my glasses.
07. Except for having the ends trimmed, I have not had a real haircut since I was 5 years old.
08. My hair is waist-length.
09. I was valedictorian of my high school class of nearly 300.
10. I am allergic to alfalfa, other types of hay, pollen, cats, some dogs, goats, grass, dust, penicillin, and codeine--no food allergies though.
11. Bananas make me sick to my stomach.
12. I have no pets in California, but have an outdoor cat and lots of pet cows at home in Kentucky.
13. I despise smoking.
14. I'm phobic of snakes and extremely terrified of mice and rats.
15. I have a near-photographic memory.
16. Up until I left for college, I had lived in the same house for my entire life; my parents still live there.
17. I am a former TV junkie.
18. From September 1991 to the present, with the exception of two B's in graduate school courses, I have only earned A's in school.
19. Although not particularly squeamish, I get queasy when working with blood and cannot handle watching something bleed.
20. I have never been toilet papering, nor have I ever been toilet papered.
21. I was captain of my school's academic (quiz bowl) team my senior year of high school.
22. I received an honorable mention in the National Merit Scholarship competition my senior year of high school.
23. I did not own a cell phone until I was 23.
24. I cannot play a musical instrument of any sort to save my life.
25. I love to cook and bake.
26. I'm a neat/clean freak.
27. When I was a child and teenager, I was a huge fan of figure skating and gymnastics.
28. I am collecting five sets of state quarters.
29. As I child, I loved Barbie dolls, and my sister and I would spend hours upon end playing with them.
30. I am the first person in my family to pursue a Ph.D.
31. I once stayed up for 37 hours straight.
32. I am a complete and total pack-rat.
33. I hate needles and shots.
34. When visiting zoos, I will not go in the primate houses out of fear of catching some sort of horrible disease from them.
35. I am completely and utterly fascinated by Komodo Dragons and Great White sharks.
36. I think the Rocky Mountains are completely gorgeous; I'd love to live there someday.
37. I have walked in the Great Salt Flats.
38. If I had been a boy, my parents would have named me Benjamin, and my nickname as a child would have been Benji *shudders*.
39. I had to have three sets of ear tubes as a child.
40. When I eventually get married someday, my colors will be burgundy and champagne pink.
41. My only nickname, Gerbil, was given to me by my sister when I was 16.
42. Although I don't get to do it very often, I love to dress up.
43. At one time, I wanted to be a pediatric surgeon or pediatrician, but ended up not going to medical school because of the whole issues with blood thing.
44. I believe that everyone has a soul mate.
45. I would like to have three children someday, preferably all girls.
46. I love thunderstorms.
47. I thoroughly intend to open my own biotech company someday.
48. While growing up, my sister and I showed cattle almost every summer.
49. I once saw the top of a rainbow while driving through the Rocky Mountains.
50. During my K-12 years, I never once received a detention.
