Is This Ever Gonna End?

Posted in General on 04/08/2005

So, it’s somewhere between 10:30 and 11 on a Friday night, and I am still at the lab, trying to finish up some stuff….

The screening of the goat kids in my research project is almost, almost over with. I had some weak, iffy results using one type of analysis, so I had to switch to another to hopefully confirm everything. Only thing is, this is something I don’t do very often (for the record, it’s called a Southern Blot). Since it’s not something I do very often, I always get antsy when I do one. I’ve spent a good portion of the day sorting through some confusing protocols and getting passed a few mess-ups–nothing non-salvagable though.

If all goes well, tomorrow should be the last day I have to spend on screening baby goats. I’ve worked ever day since February 28, except for one, and I’m just ready to get this over with. Don’t get me wrong, I love my research, but working this hard this much gets to be draining after awhile. I just want a Saturday morning to sleep in and a nice, lazy Sunday afternoon to play with my website or write some fanfiction. Oh yeah, I’d like to have the time and energy to clean my apartment too.

On top of everything, I’ve been sick this week too. I caught a nasty cold and have been trying to get over it. Usually, when I get sick with a cold, I’ll spend the first day in bed, sleeping it off. I’m, unfortunately, an expert at the treatment of the common cold, and just sleeping it off the first day seems to make a huge difference. No time for that right now.

  1. How’s everything going? Did you get rid of that nasty cold you had? How’s the research? Hope you got some rest from all that research.

I just wanted to stop by and comment and say hello!

    Hello!

  2. Hey,

I have actually finally recovered from the cold… Yay! I’m currently suffering from insomnia at the moment… too much diet dr. pepper too late at night…

The research is going ok, and I did finally get a break. It’s done wonders for my sanity. There’s a reason why the 7 day work-week was abolished..

I did get your e-mail, and I swear I’m going to reply and check out the new stuff for the SOL Fanlisting. I feel like I can’t keep up with who and where I need to pm/e-mail…
