At this moment, I should be working on writing a proposal for graduate student research money. I actually came home from the lab early to work on it and took yesterday off completely to work on it. It’s not like I haven’t been working on it–because I have. I’m doing my usual fuss-over-every-last word and second-guess-everything stuff that I always do. The assitant research biologist read over what I have so far when I was in, and she thinks it sounds great. She only had a few little suggestions, and they’re not anything major.

If I really got down with it, I could have it done in a few hours. But, alas, I’m just not feeling like writing at the moment. I could lay down for a bit, but then I just won’t want to go to sleep tonight…

Not helping anything is that it’s all rainy and dreary outside. It’s unusual for this time of year where I’m at. We have a true wet-or-dry climate, and we should be into the dry part right now. Which, the rain is good because it’ll keep things green a bit longer. On the flip side, it’s going to be 90 degrees later this week and with the rain we’re getting, it means that everything will be all humid and sticky. I hate humid sticky weather. I grew up in the South, and of all the things I miss, I must say humid hot weather is not one of them. I suppose I could just look at it as training for next week when I go home.

In other news, NBC had their “upfront” this week and despite all the fans efforts, they decided to get rid of American Dreams. I was expecting it to happen, and prepared for it, but I was still disappointed. I understand it was a business decision, but after reading some descriptions of their new dramas from the fall, I find myself asking if these people honestly think that their new shows are actually going to get better ratings… The worst one is called “Fathom” and it’s about this new form of sea life that pops up. Completely.Utterly.Ridiculous. They’ve managed to schedule this non-gem as the lead-off show for Monday nights, which also has me scratching my head. I don’t think it’s the best lead in for my beloved Las Vegas, and I worry that the drivel could hurt LV’s ratings. Of course, if the writers don’t do a heckuva a better job on LV next season, they may hurt their ratings themselves.

Totally changing subjects again, I think I’ve just come to the conclusion that I would have gotten more done today on the research proposal if I’d just stayed home to begin with. The writing was going fine until I decided to go in for a few hours and started getting cleaned up… Ah well… I’ll get back to work here… in the next little bit or so…

Gotta few minutes here, so I thought I’d pop in for a moment and say something new.

Now that the Danny/Mary site is up and running, I’m going to turn my attention back to my other little projects, like this part of my site. I’ve decided that come June 1, this place is getting a new layout. June is National Dairy Month, so in honor of that, the next layout will feature my most favorite cows of all time… Dana (obviously), Buttercup, Bernie, and Posey will definitely be in the layout. I’m thinking about maybe putting in Katarina and/or Brooke too. We don’t own Brooke any more, but I was the one who raised her, and she is really one of my all time favs of the cow-babies.

When I get the new layout ready, I think I’m going to combine a few areas and get rid of some as well. I had the fanart gallery to put Danny/Mary stuff in, but with the site, it’s all gonna go over there. I also was going to put some Beth and JJ stuff in, but I could put that up on the Beth/JJ Fl and just get rid of the gallery section all together. I’m debating the fanfic section, again, it was mostly to put Dary fic in, but that’s going to the DM site. I do have a few Passions fanfics, but I’m not going to finish them, so there’s no point in keeping them up–except for one which was a one shot deal. I’ve got a few seaQuest/Ben & Katie ones from years ago. I think I might finish them off and put them up eventually. I suppose I could drop the fic section for now and bring it back when I have those two finished.

I need to actually make the “Me” section. I want to put a little bio, my likes, dislikes, random facts about me, etc.

Then, there are the site and project sections, which I could likely combine and call it www or something. Really, the only projects I have are the handful of fanlistings I run (which are listed under fanlistings), this, and the Danny/Mary site. I thought about maybe putting up caps of my old sites though.

Another thing I’m debating is whether to make the main page a real entry page again to direct people to the d/m site. My other thought was just to put a link to it in my side column… Make a section to link it in. It woudn’t be too hard, and I kind of like having the personal site come up when you put in my domain name…

I think that’s it at the moment. Kind of a completely pointless post, but ah well…
