Random Mumbling
I had a few moments to spare, so I decided I might should write something in my blog since I haven’t done so in quite awhile. I keep setting here staring at the screen, trying to think of something at least remotely interesting or amusing to write about. I’m not having much luck at the moment.
At first, I thought I might say something about the weather. The rainy season finally got started this week. It rained Wednesday, has turned off cooler (thankfully, I had the foresight last weekend to change out my summer and winter clothes), and the sky is overcast. The sky will likely remain like this for most days between now and March. On the flip side, it is doing wonders for my allergies to get the pollen and other junk cleared out of the air.
Then, I nearly wrote something about my “things I want to do and probably need to do, but never get around to doing” list. At this moment, the list includes doing something with all the stuff I have stored under my bed; putting photos I’ve made over the last three years into albums and picking some of the digital pics I’ve made to be printed; cleaning out from under my bathroom sink; taking everything out of the cabinets in the kitchen and givng the shelves and cabinets their yearly wipe-down with soapy water (you’d be surprised at what can build up in a year…), doing more work on transferring my old video cassettes to dvd; finishing the fanfic archive for ATIW so that I can move on to the other parts of the site that need more work still; upgrading the ATIW message board software to the latest release of IPB; finishing the new layout for this site; making a new layout for my Beth/JJ fanlisting; and, and, and… I honestly have the best of intentions–and I’ll get everything done–eventually.
My last thought was to comment on the fact that I need to do something about my adddiction to fonts and photoshop brushes and gradients. Last week, I told someone there really is no reason why I need over 800 fonts and at least 80 sets of brushes. The person I made the comment to said she saw no problems at all with my collection… But, then again, she’s a photoshop junkie too…
In other news, I got paid for the first time in awhile. (Gotta love the person who decided that grad students should be paid over 9 months instead of 12…) I can now afford to buy things like laundry soap and good chocolate….
