I totally agree! I was a figure skating nut growing up and I've been complaining about the artistry going missing in the sport to my fiance. He's sick of hearing it but it really upsets me. At first i was like, omg...this is a long one, but hey, unlike my posts, this was highly interesting. I still don't understand this new point system. But I must say, all the figure skating i did watch, very boring. All very robotic and like you said, all jumps. all about the technical pts. I had been watching the games with a friend of mine and we both agreed that with Michelle not being there, something was missing. I have always enjoyed Kwan's skating. Not seeing it this time around, just not the same for me. okay, now that i made no sense in that comment...tee hee... i can't wait to see pics from your road trip. I want to go on a road trip.
