I Don’t Like Coffee
One of my New Year’s resolutions was to write more in my blog. I’m a bit behind getting started on it, as 10 days have already passed for this year. I suppose though it’s better late than never. On to the meaningless and pointless now…
I do not like coffee. More specifically, I don’t like the way it taste. I think it smells heavenly though. This is a fact that will not surprise 98% of the people that know me. In the past, I haven’t liked it in anything at all, but recently, I’ve encountered a couple of food items that I actually really liked despite the fact that they had some coffee in them. One was some chocolate and the other was this fabulous chocolate tiramisu dessert.
A very kind friend gave me the recipe for item #2, and I’m planning on making it here sometime in the very near future. When I was getting supplies to make it, I ended up getting a box of one of those instant coffee drinks since I don’t have a coffee maker and didn’t need a giant jar of instant coffee (and buying a cup of coffee when I get ready to make this seemed like sort of a pain in the rear). Since I’d enjoyed two things that had some coffee in them recently, after spending a life time absolutely not eating anything with coffee in it, I started wondering if perhaps maybe my taste had changed. It happened with coconut, so I surmised maybe it had with coffee too.
I got the little tin out of the pantry, opened it up, and it smelled wonderful. I mixed up a cup full. It still smelled really good. Then, I took a taste.
Nope, I still don’t like to drink coffee. I tried adding some splenda to it. I tried adding some hot chocolate mix to it, as someone suggested I might like coffee mixed with hot cocoa. Nothing did the trick. I apparently just don’t like coffee except for the two rare cases of See’s Mocha Coffee milk chocolate buttercream chocolates and easy chocolate tiramisu. That’s it.
